Rolex Daytona

The musician and watch lover has released his own version of the legendary chronograph

Rolex Cosmograph Daytona designed by Lenny Kravitz

Lenny Kravitz, famous musician and multiple Grammy winner, has been collecting watches for over 20 years. He is particularly fond of classic models, full of stories and life. He also has a penchant for design – he has been running the company Kravitz Design for some time. His passion for watches and design combined, has now come out as follows:

Of course, the musician didn’t build the clock. The design is by him – the whole thing was realized by the Geneva “watch refiner” Les Artisans De Genève. According to their own statement, they worked here for two years on the development of the Daytona LK01.

The vintage-touch creation is based on a Rolex Cosmograph Daytona Reference 116523 and the “blackening” of the Daytona by means of carbon coating processes (DLC), as is also known from the watch tuners Blaken and Bamford, is a striking change that was made in the watch workshop. The bezel was replaced by a special black and gold bakelite bezel. But also the inner life of the LK01 has its own character…

The movement of the LK01, a Caliber 4130, has also been black coated and is now driven by a 22-carat gold rotor. And that doesn’t stay hidden – the back of the watch is equipped with a sapphire crystal back, which gives enthusiasts a view of the black and gold heart of the LK01.

Also with glass bottom the LK01 still offers water resistance to 100 meters (picture from lesartisansdegeneve.com)

The price of the Daytona LK01 is about 39,000 Euro. However, production is only on request and a total of no more than 55 pieces should be produced.
